I have seen too much pain. I have seen enough lives go down the wrong side of the road. I have heard of friends being shot, families being torn apart, and lives being lost. I am sick of hearing the stories of how an older brother came home one year and told his little brother, a dear friend of mine, that he had turned into a little white boy and was not living hard enough. My friend subsequently fell into a cocaine habit and renounced a good deal of his white friends and some of his Mexican ones. People that loved him and still do. And for what?


We as human beings, not as black, white, yellow, or red, must learn to live together as people. We are all valuable. There is none that is better than another. We can't go on hating the other because of stereotypes which are almost all of the time, false. We have to educate ourselves in what God thinks about things. If you don't want to go that far, just look and see that yes, we do look different, and yes, there are differences in some of the ways we live and speak, but break us down and we are the same! We hustle to make ends meet. We love our families. We love our children. We all bleed the same blood. Hate cannot bind us anymore. There have been too many deaths. So much beautiful potential wasted and for what? A side of the street? A bag of drugs? A skin color? An opinion that was dealt with too strongly in the first place? It has to stop. Rage will not burn within me because of your skin. Prejudice will no longer rule my speech or thought. I am going to except people for the beautiful individuals that they are. Individuals that God has created.

I will be the first to tell you that it is easy to joke around with friends about being gansta. It's easy to make little jokes like "It's because I'm Mexican isn't it?" when we don't get something our way. It's so easy and it seems so harmless at the time, but I will also tell you that after a year of those remarks, you find yourself believing them. Don't let them creep into your vocabulary. There are better words, there are better descriptions.

Life is too short to wallow in hatred. Hatred doesn't change anything. No matter how many people you kill for the man who killed your brother, someone will always have to repay you for having killed their brother. It is a long, vicious cycle and at the end of the road, everybody ends up dead. IT IS NOT WORTH IT! Go to God. Get out of the cycle and fall into the arms that accept you no matter what. Get to know God and what He has said in His word and you will soon find that the life that God offers is one of forgiveness and love. He is the ultimate freedom from hatred. God is freedom.


HATRED WILL NOT TAKE UP RESIDENCE IN THIS LIFE.
